poLight parters with Texas Instruments for large volume production

poLight today announced a collaborationg with Texas Instruments to produce the Optical MEMS part of its TLens™ in large volumes. poLight is developing three different actuated autofocus devices based on a patented technology using Optical MEMS and polymer to fit in camera modules based on 1/5” to 1/2.5” sensors of 5MP to 12MP resolution. The device called ‘TLens’ (Tunable Lens) is to replace the traditional Voice Coil Motor technology and will enhance camera module performance in terms of speed (more than 20x faster) while consuming 40x less power to preserve battery life in continuous autofocus mode. Texas Instruments has worked closely with poLight to develop a process that meet both device performance needs and cost goals.

poLight and Movidius partner to bring new digital camera experience and 3D to camera phones

poLight, the world leader in very high-speed and ultra low power autofocus actuated lenses, announced today that its actuator is enabling an enhanced experience of camera phone photography – bringing the experience closer to that of a digital still or video camera. poLight is working with multi-core processor specialist Movidius to demonstrate its capabilities at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from 27th February. New contract with Edvantage group gives Danish government employees access to more e-learning
